Sargodha ASO seizes non duty paid Finisher Paver & vehicle

SARGODHA: The Customs Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha foiled a smuggling attempt and confiscated non duty paid foreign origin Finisher Paver Mitsubishi carpet road making Machine worth Rs60,50,000 involving customs duty and taxes of Rs10,69,200 and impounded Nissan truck worth Rs15,00,000.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Rana Falik Shair received a tip off regarding the transportation of smuggled items. He formed a special team comprising Superintendent Ch Sardar Muhammad, Inspectors Malik Atif Mumtaz, Sepoy Bashir Ahmed, Safdar Hussain, Mansha, Rana Muhammad Ashraf to foil the attempt.

The ASO team started checking of vehicles near Jhal Chakian Khushab Road Sargodha. The ASO team intercepted a Nissan truck with registration no: TKZ-669 loaded with foreign origin Finsher Paver. The team asked the driver namely Muhammad Sameer son of Imam Bakkash to show the legal documents regarding the possession and transportation of the goods but he failed to do so.

The ASO team impounded the loaded Finsher Paver along with the offending vehicle. The ASO registered a case of smuggling against the accused under Section 168 of the Customs Act 1969 and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for further proceeding.
