Sargodha ASO seizes non-duty paid Hino truck

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization ( ASO ) Sargodha has seized foreign origin Hino truck bearing registration No. TKA-385 model 1993 worth Rs 3 million during a crackdown.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector  Zulfiqar Chaudhary received information regarding some smuggling attempts. He formed an ASO team under the supervision of Deputy Collector Rana Falik Shair which also included Azhar Hussain Jafri, Bashir Ahmed (inspector), Abdul Hameed, Muhammad Feroz, Muhammad Mansha, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Iqbal and Shafqat Mehmood (sepoys ). The ASO team intercept Hino truck near Lahore Sargodha bypass.

The ASO team asked driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Muhammad Umar son of Abaid Ullah, to produce legal documents regarding the possession of the vehicle but he failed to show any legal documents. The ASO team seized the vehicle and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication.
