Sargodha ASO seizes non duty paid LEDs

SARGODHA: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has confiscated smuggled LED TV of Sony brand worth Rs 15,54,000 involving duty and taxes amounting to Rs6,68,495 during an action.

Sources told Customs Today, that ASO Sargodha Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan received information regarding the smuggling attempt on which he formed a team comprising Superintendent Choudhary Muhammad Sardar, Inspector Malik Atif, Bashir Ahmed, havaldar Rana Muhammad Ashraf, sepoy Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Imran, Muhammad Iqbal to foil the smuggling bid.

The ASO team intercepted a Mazda truck bearing registration no. LZR-5368 are being transportation from lahore to Rawalpindi. The team recovered a smuggled LED TV from the truck and seized it as the driver named Asif Khan could not produce documents regarding its legal import.

The seizure report has been submitted to the adjudication department for further legally process.
