Sargodha ASO seizes non-duty paid tyres, white Zeera near Khushab

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Sargodha has impounded foreign origin used tyres in different brands and white Zeera. The market value of the seized items is Rs 730,000 while its customs duty and taxes value is Rs 177,426.

Sources told Customs Today, that Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan received information that smuggled items were brought into the country through an unauthorized route and without payment of duty and taxes.

The ASO team intercepted a truck bearing registration number TKT-541 near Khushab river bridge Khushab and recovered foreign origin 15 tyres and white Zeera were loaded on truck. The ASO asked the owner of goods who was identified as Muhammad Rafique son of Murad Khan to produce legal documents regarding the import of the items. But he remained failed. As there was no proper arrangement of through search so the loaded truck and items was taken into customs custody and brought into Customs House.

Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization after registering a case of smuggling against accused persons started further investigations.
