Sargodha FIU impounds non duty paid Hino truck

SARGODHA: The Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) impounded a non-duty paid Hino truck bearing registration no: OKS-16-62 (6 wheelers) Model 1997 worth Rs5 million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs2.4 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Irfan Shouqat received a tip off about a non-duty paid vehicle plying on the road. He constituted a team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Intelligence Officers Mansoor Nasir, Saad Iqbal, Driver Muhammad Aslam, Sepoys Muhammad Ashraf, Asad Iqbal, Khalil Ahmed and others.

The FIU team intercepted a Hino truck near Jhal Chakkiyan Sargodha and asked the owner of the vehicle identified as Nasir Hayat to produce the legal documents regarding the possession of the truck. But he failed to prove the legal possession of the Hino truck.

The FIU team impounded the truck and forwarded the case to the Custom Adjudication for legal proceeding.
