Sargodha FIU seizes non-duty paid generator, vehicle

SARGODHA: The Field Investigation Unit (FIU) of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized a non -customs paid foreign origin generator 28 KVA worth Rs5 million impounded Hyundai Shahzore Pickup being used for transportation.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat received a tip off about the smuggling of non-duty paid generator. He constituted a team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir, Intelligence Officer Saad Iqbal and Sepoys Muhammad Ashraf and Asad Iqbal.

The FIU team intercepted the Hyundai Shahzore bearing registration no: J-9514 Peshawar near Kundian district Mianwali and asked the possessors of the items who was identified as Taj Nawaz Khan son of Sarfraz Khan to produce legal documents regarding the possession of the generator and vehicle but he failed to do so.

So the FIU Sargodha team took the truck into possession and forwarded the case to the customs adjudication for legal proceeding.
