Sargodha FIU seizes non-duty paid plastic crockery

SARGODHA: The Field Investigation Unit (FIU) of Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized a non-duty paid foreign origin plastic crockery made in Iran worth Rs1.2 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Rana Irfan Shouqat received information about smuggled plastic crockery. He constituted a team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Tahir Iqbal, Intelligence Officer Muhammad Arshad, Saeed Hayat and Sepoys Muhammad Sajjad and Khalil Ahmed.

The FIU team intercepted a trailer bearing registration number: TLR-604 near Moosa Khail Mianwali and recovered plastic crockery and glassware.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation team asked the owner of items namely who was identified as Zaheer Khan to produce legal documents regarding possession of smuggled items but they failed to provide any relevant documents. FIU team seized the truck and forwarded the case to customs adjudication for legal process.
