ISLAMABAD: Chief Collector North Sarwat Tahira Habib inaugurated a Customs Staff Welfare Shop for the employees of the model customs collectorate Islamabad at the Customs House where low-priced necessities of life will be sold.
Talking to Customs Today, she said the welfare shop has been opened by the instruction of the FBR chief collector and its operating procedure will be strictly followed.
She said a four-member management committee has been constituted which comprises of additional collector (HQ) as president, deputy/assistant collector (HQ), state warehouse superintendent and Customs House officer.
Tahira remarked that all the decisions of the committee shall be signed by the president and all the other members. Goods shall be received by the Customs Welfare Shop from the Customs State Warehouses of the Collectorate after payment of all government taxes, with a proper inventory to be prepared in duplicate.
She added that sale proceeds shall be deposited into the designated bank within the 24 hours against the current account in the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to be operated by the president of the committee.
At the end, she appreciated Collector Dr. Arslan for his initiative to open the welfare shop.
