Saudi Customs foils two smuggling attempts

HALAT AMMAR: Saudi Customs foiled two attempts to smuggle 54, 597 pills of narcotic in two separate operations.

According to details, Director General of Customs Ammar Abdul Aziz Naemeh said that in the first attempt, the customs team was on routine checking when the team intercepted a vehicle and recovered 53, 647 tablets hidden inside the candy canes beneath two layers of grains adding that in the second attempt, the customs team recovered 950 narcotics pills from another suspected vehicle.

Director General of Customs Ammar explained that in spite of the multiplicity of attempts at smuggling contraband such as roads and other ways of transportation are no longer pose any difficulty with the employees and affiliates Customs detected and thwarted, stressing that it was due to capacity building and skills development, and providing all regulatory means support for the fight against smuggling of all kinds, which Saudi customs offered to all employees in the customs borders (land, air and sea).
