RIYADH: President of Saudi Customs affairs, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa, has attended the 10th meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Customs Union, which arranged at General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
The session discussed key issues relating to the automatic customs system. The delegations have also approved the reports of the customs and IT procedural committee on updating requirements ahead of the planned GCC railway projects.
They stressed the importance of benefiting from the world practices regarding railway stations customs procedures and endorsed other committee reports. The officials have also discussed a recommendations to exchange employees at customs exit points and reviewed a proposed mechanism on handling foreign merchandise.
