SBP to issue commemorative coin marking 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan has announced the issuance of a special Rs75 commemorative coin to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

According to the central bank, the commemorative coin will be made available to the public from May 25, 2026 through field offices of the SBP Banking Services Corporation across the country.

The special coin has been minted using copper and nickel metals. One side of the coin features Pakistan’s crescent and star along with the inscription “Islamic Republic of Pakistan”.

The other side displays the national flags of Pakistan and China, symbolising the longstanding friendship between the two countries. The words “Trust, Friendship, Support” are also inscribed on the commemorative coin.

The State Bank said the coin includes special inscriptions in Urdu, English and Chinese languages to mark the historic milestone in bilateral relations.

The commemorative coin has a diameter of 36 millimetres and weighs 19 grams.

Pakistan and China established diplomatic relations in 1951 and have since developed close strategic, economic and diplomatic ties spanning multiple sectors.
