SC forms larger bench to hear Panama Leaks case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan Friday constituted a larger bench to hear petitions filed to seek disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and others in Panama Leaks case.

A five-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and includes Justice Asif Khosa, Justice Azmat Saeed, Justice Ejazul Hassan and Justice Amir Hani Muslim, will hear the case regarding Panama Leaks on November 01.

The apex court has already issued notices to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz, Captain (r) Safdar, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman and the attorney general in the Panama papers case.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Barrister Zafar¬ullah Khan of Watan Party and advocate Asad had filed separate petitions in the Supreme Court for disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister.
