SC summons Chairman FBR in tax matters case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Monday summoned  Chairman Federal Board of Revenue  (FBR) in person in tax matters case.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case regarding Commissioner Income Tax Land Revenue RTO, Rawalpindi. The bench after reviewing documents of the case remarked that high court announced an important decision regarding land revenue which was missing in the documents.

The FBR counsel informed the court that the hearing of case was pending since long and it was mistake of former counsel to not include the high court’s decision in documents. He said that the high court verdict would be submitted to include in documents.

On this, the chief justice asked the counsel to inform the court about some important points of the case so that it could proceed further. The FBR counsel pleaded the court to grant some time for preparation of the case as he was recently attached with the case. The court also summoned Chairman FBR and adjourned hearing of the case till Wednesday (February 15).
