SC to hear six income tax related cases today

ISLAMABAD: A three-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) will hear six income tax and one customs duty matter on Tuesday.

SC bench comprising Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Maqbool Baqar would hear the said references involving field office of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Interestingly, all the four income tax references ought to be heard by the bench were filed by FBR. The commissioner inland revenue, RTO, Peshawar had filed three income tax references against Sher Akbar Khan.

In another case, commissioner inland Revenue, RTO, Peshawar had also filed a tax reference against Muhammad Khisra Khan.

All above mentioned cases were filed during 2015 and 2016. The bench would also a customs reference filed in 2008. This case had been filed by Muhammad Sohail against the Central Board of Revenue, Islamabad. Three member bench of SC would hold hearings on these cases on Tuesday.
