SCCI expresses concern over delay in import consignments’ clearance

SIALKOT: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has expressed grave concern over the inordinate delay in the clearance of import consignments at the Karachi Dry Port of the Sialkot based manufacturers.

SCCI President Fazal Jillani said that the manufacturer-cum-exporters had facility to import duty-free raw material, used in production of different items, shipments from other countries.

He said that the Sialkot exporters were much perturbed due to delay in clearance of consignment by customs authorities as they have to bear financial and ordeal losses in business.

SCCI President said that exporters were also facing problems in meeting their export targets due to load-shedding in the country, while delay in raw material consignments would damage the business community more, he added

He urged the federal government to look into the matter in the larger interest of the business community.
