SCCI for stronger relationship between industry and academia

SIALKOT: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Tuesday, organized a seminar on the importance of effective role of academia in industrial promotion and development.

SCCI President Fazal Jillani chaired the seminar. Senior teachers and students from University of Gujrat, Sialkot campus and SCCI Research and Development Officer Abdul Rauf Mughal were also present on this occasion.

On this occasion, SCCI President Fazal Jillani stressed the need of promotion of stronger relationship between the export industry of Sialkot and the academia, saying that the higher educational institutions including engineering and business management universities have been playing a pivotal role in the development of the industry globally, besides, playing leading role in introducing and launching new industrial and engineering products and bringing newness and upgradation in the persisting products as well.

Dr. Muhammad Ejaz Sandhu, Director (IMSEC) UoG Sialkot campus revealed that the better mutual cooperation between the industry and academia could also help in catering the future needs of the research and development, enhancing the capacity of the work force, building the capacity of the industrial workers by designing the new industrial and engineering machinery, bringing newness in the quality and standard of the products, reducing the cost of industrial production and introducing the latest industrial technology as well.

On this occasion, Chairman SCCI Event Management Committee Mian Muhammad Khalil and vice chairman Faizan Akbar said that no industry could develop without the active cooperation of the academia in this modern era of industrial development, in this regard.
