SCCI hails Federal Budget 2017-18

SUKKUR: President, Sukkur Chamber of Commerce & Industries (SCCI), Aamir Ghuri on Saturday termed the Federal Budget  2017-18 a balanced, pro-poor, people-friendly and growth-oriented. Termed it as historical steps of the government, he said it is also agriculture friendly.

SCCI President said it covered all sectors of the economy to make sure that the country continued its journey on path of progress and prosperity.

He further said that several measures has been taken to improve agriculture sector including credit guarantee scheme for small and marganlised farmers were also announced in the Federal budget.

He said a growth-oriented and investment friendly budget focused on public welfare and termed the budget balanced and lauded the steps taken for the betterment of the agriculture.

“Improvement in agriculture will lead to strengthen the country’seconomy,” he said. Commenting over the budget, he said for the first time in recent history of the country, the present budget is qually helpful for the working class as well as pensioners who had been given reasonable raise in their wages, which was an appreciable measure, he added.

The credit for such a relief-oriented budget goesto Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he said. The SCCI has assured the government of its full support and cooperation in implementation of the budget 2017-18, he said.
