SCCI to take up issue of POS with FBR

PESHAWAR: Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Fuad Ishaq assured the delegation of the Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) to take up the issue of the Point of Sale (POS) with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Fuad Ishaq said SCCI believes in self-less services of the business community, and a solely representative forum of the community, which has always played a pivotal role in resolution of their issues by taking up them with the relevant government departments and authorities.

The issue of integrating the POS system with distributors was raised by a delegation of Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) led by its president Atif Shehzad during a meeting with the SCCI president Fuad Ishaq.

Other members of the FMCG delegation include Malik Khalid Farooq, Aftab Amin, Umar Khan, Mujeeb Khan, Munir Khan, Saleem Khan, Azhar Khan.

FMCG president Atif Shehzad apprised the SCCI chief Fuad Ishaq regarding reservations of distributors over implementation of the POS system by FBR.

Mr Shehzad said FBR had issued a SRO to integrate distributors with the POS system from Feb 1, according to him, the system has been enforced without realizing the ground reality, nature of distributing business and distribution system, which is completely unjust with the community attached with distributing business.

The FMCG delegation urged SCCI president Fuad Ishaq to take up this crucial POS issue at the FBR level.

During the meeting, the chamber president assured the delegation that the POS issue will be raised with FBR in an effective manner and would make every effort to resolve it.

Fuad Ishaq said SCCI believes in indiscriminate services to the business community and our objective is to take all possible steps to provide maximum relief and facilities to the community.

On the occasion, the chamber president mentioned about depriving KP from its constitutional rights on gas and electricity.

Fuad Ishaq said that the country’s economy would be stabilized by provision of facilities and relief to the business community and the dream of progress and prosperity come true in real sense.

He demanded of the government to take pragmatic steps for ease of doing business and resolve issues of the business community on priority basis.
