Scorpio Tankers given consensus recommendation of “Buy” by Brokerages

HELSINKI: Shares of Scorpio Tankers have received an average rating of “Buy” from the fourteen ratings firms that are presently covering the company, ARN reports. Three analysts have rated the stock with a hold recommendation and eleven have issued a buy recommendation on the company. The average 1-year price target among brokers that have issued ratings on the stock in the last year is $11.46.

STNG has been the subject of a number of recent research reports. Analysts at Bank of America initiated coverage on shares of Scorpio Tankers in a research note on Tuesday, July 21st. They set a “buy” rating and a $13.50 price target on the stock. Analysts at JPMorgan Chase & Co. upgraded shares of Scorpio Tankers from a “neutral” rating to an “overweight” rating and raised their price target for the stock from $11.00 to $12.00 in a research note on Monday, July 20th. Analysts at Jefferies Group raised their price target on shares of Scorpio Tankers from $12.00 to $13.00 and gave the company a “buy” rating in a research note on Monday, July 20th. Analysts at Credit Suisse reiterated an “outperform” rating on shares of Scorpio Tankers in a research note on Friday, June 26th. Finally, analysts at DNB Markets upgraded shares of Scorpio Tankers from a “hold” rating to a “buy” rating and raised their price target for the stock from $9.70 to $11.00 in a research note on Monday, May 4th.

Scorpio Tankers has a 52-week low of $6.48 and a 52-week high of $11.64. The stock’s 50-day moving average is $10.30 and its 200-day moving average is $9.36. The company has a market cap of $1.66 billion and a P/E ratio of 45.10.

Scorpio Tankers last issued its quarterly earnings data on Monday, April 27th. The company reported $0.24 EPS for the quarter, meeting the Thomson Reuters consensus estimate of $0.24. The company had revenue of $160.70 million for the quarter, compared to the consensus estimate of $152.50 million. During the same quarter in the prior year, the company posted $0.01 earnings per share. The company’s quarterly revenue was up 109.5% on a year-over-year basis. On average, analysts predict that Scorpio Tankers will post $1.12 earnings per share for the current fiscal year.
