GIRVAN: Drugs with an estimated street value of £10,000 have been recovered by Community Policing officers in Girvan last week.
About 10.40am on Sunday (27th December) police officers searched a house in Ailsa Street East, Girvan under warrant and recovered a quantity of class A and B drugs.
A 26 year-old man from the town was arrested and held in police custody to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court for alleged offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Community Policing Sergeant Alan McDowall commented: “ This seizure will have an impact on the supply of drugs making their way onto the streets and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to keeping people safe and to working with communities to tackle drug misuse and drug dealing.
“I would encourage anyone with information on those involved in crime to contact us or to contact the independent charity Crimestoppers where anonymity is guaranteed”.
