LONDON: Astronauts go into space regularly and may end up staying there for months at a time, and during that time nature must take its course, meaning that astronaut poop and its disposal method is a real issue.
Although it is a hard experiment and they are constantly being poked and probed and studies, the astronauts have been exposed to some awesome and spectacular visuals, including 16 sunrises and sunsets a day-as the space station orbits the Earth every 90 minutes.
Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko left Earth in March and will spend a total of 342 days in space.
In addition to scientific advances, the Kelly and Kornienko mission presents an opportunity to warm relations between the United States and Russian Federation ; the research collected will be shared between the two countries, as will the costs. The data will come in handy if-or when, if you’re Buzz Aldrin-humans embark on long missions to other parts of the solar system, like Mars.
