Seafood, agriculture exports of British Columbia rise 11% to nearly 3 billion Canadian dollars

VANCOUVER: The seafood and agriculture exports of Canada’s western province of British Columbia rose by 11 percent last year to nearly 3 billion Canadian dollars (about 2. 4 billion U.S. dollars), according to official data.

On top of the seafood exports were farmed Atlantic salmon, wild sockeye salmon and crabs, while blueberries, baked goods and processed ingredients for food manufacturing led agricultural exports, the British Columbia’s Ministry of Agriculture said.

The British Columbia, which is on the west coast of Canada, has been exporting agrifood to 150 countries, with exports valued at 2. 96 billion Canadian dollars in the past year.
