GENEVA: A Spanish automobile manufacturer, Seat has launched its latest concept at the Geneva Motor Show, designed to preview a first-ever SUV model. Called the 20V20 (’20:20 Vision’), the concept is described by Seat as a four-door coupe sports crossover.

The concept was teased a few days ago, and the carmaker says it also previews a new styling direction; combining SUV features with that of a midsized family wagon.

Front styling is dominated by a pair of triangular headlamps and ‘chiselled’ looks for the both the bumper and bonnet.

The look appears to be an extension of the IBX concept from last year’s Geneva show, but the new version is longer and has two extra doors.

The concept measures 4660mm long and have a wheelbase of 2790mm. The front track is 1650mm wide, and the 20V20 stands 228mm off the ground.

Inside, there’s an impressive 600 litres of cargo space – presumably with the rear seats in place – and a trio of goodies stashed beneath the boot floor.

Two luggage trolleys are available, along with Seat’s Personal Mover; an electric personal mobility machine designed to continue the journey if needed once the driver has parked.

Seat hasn’t yet revealed what’s lurking underneath the 20V20’s bonnet, preferring instead to emphasise that the production version could be available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powerplants.

Where the new Seat SUV will be positioned price-wise and in which markets is unclear, as is parent company Volkswagen’s strategy with its own similarly-sized Tiguan.
