ISLAMABAD: Security forces are high alert for the full dress rehearsal for March 23 parade that will be held today.
According to details, all the main roads coming to the parade avenue have been closed for every type of traffic.
The busiest Murree road, linking Rawalpindi to Islamabad, has been sealed through blockades at the point of Shamsabad whereas checkpoints have been setup at Airport Chowk, Khanna Bridge and Shakrial on Express way restoring the traffic through alternate routes.
Moreover, the traffic is being moved towards Peshawar Mor and Kashmir Highway by closing the IJP road at the point of double road.
Mobile service has been suspended from 6am in I-8, I-9, Faizabad, Margala Town, Rawal Town, Sohan, Zero point, G-6, G-7 and other nearby areas of Parade Avenue.
Security has also been tightened in Rawalpindi and Islamabad by setting up checkpoints on different places and deploying police and soldiers of Pakistan Army.
