Seized generators case: LHC issues notice to customs authorities, seeks reply

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) heard the case filed by the importer who claimed that besides the order of the court Customs authorities failed to release seized generators.

Justice Abid Eziz Shiekh heard the case in which the counsel for the appellant Shafqat Mehmood Chohan appeared before the court and argued the customs intelligence officers did not release the seized generators.

Adding more that court already ordered to the customs officers to release generators to the owner but customs officers violated laws and did not release generators to lawful owner.

After hearing arguments from appellant, LHC issued notice to customs authorities and sought reply.

Counsel for appellant Shafqat Mehmood Chohan told that the same case was filed and heard by the honorable court and passed the order for release of seized generators but the customs officers did not hand over the generators to the owner. Now the court sought reply from the customs officers in the same case.
