Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights on May 23 at DGTR Building

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to organise a seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights” (IPRs) on Saturday (May-23) at 3pm at the Directorate General of Training and Research (DGTR) Building.

Both the Chief Collectors of Customs Muhammad Nazim Saleem and Nasir Masroor Ahmed will be present on the occasion.

Director General DGTR Ghulam Ahmad, Director DGTR Syed Tanveer Ahmad and Director-Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) Aamir Rasheed Shaikh would also take part in the seminar.

The sources informed Customs Today that the authorities concerned of the Directorate General of IPR would brief the Customs authorities about the mechanism and working of the said directorate.

The sources further informed this scribe that the FBR authorities concerned have decided to make the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) operational in near future and organizing such type of informative seminar is an attempt in this regard.

It is pertinent to mention here that the FBR authorities concerned with the consultation of the authorities concerned of MCC-Preventive have also allotted 11th floor of the Custom House Building for establishing the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and its sub-office.
