Seminar on tax laws regarding immovable property held at Islamabad RTO

ISLAMABAD: In order to create awareness about different withholding provisions of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 and the Finance Act 1989 pertaining to transfer/registration of immovable property, a seminar was arranged by the Regional Tax Office, Islamabad.

Representatives from different housing societies and the Capital Development Authority, as stakeholders, attended the seminar.

The seminar was chaired by Chief Commissioner Sajjad Haider Khan, who was accompanied by Commissioner Syed Ghulam Abbas Kazmi, Additional Commissioner Waqas Hanif and Inland Revenue Officer M Usman Rashid.

The Chief Commissioner informed the participants about the importance of correct application of the withholding provisions of the law at the time of land transfer and also shed light on the impact of collection of taxes and their role in the development and welfare of Pakistan.

All withholding provisions pertaining to the transfer/registration of land were explained to the participants in detail and questions from the participants were taken accordingly. The participants also put forth the problems faced by them. The officers of the RTO, Islamabad assured the participants of their full cooperation in solving the problems of different withholding agents.
