MULTAN: The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage held a seminar ‘Haq, Haqdar Tak’ (Right to the Deserving) to create awareness among the rich to help the needy people. The seminar was held in Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).
Speaking on the occasion, MPA Rana Ijaz Noon asserted that the philanthropists should investigate and monitor whether their charities are going to deserving people or not. He said that the charity money in wrong hands could create unrest in the country.
Addressing the seminar, the Vice-President of MCCI Tariq Khan said, “We should only give our alms and endowments to deserving people, especially who were present in our surroundings and time proved that Pakistanis always helped others wholeheartedly.”
While exchanging views, ihe incharge of ‘Haq, Haqdar Tak’ campaign Yasir Masood Afaq said in Pakistan individually the charity of Rs 554 billion was donated and about 90 percent of the amount had gone to mosques and seminaries in perspective of terrorism but now the people should administer their alms, charities and endowments directly to the poor and deserving people so that it would not go in the wrong hands.
Mirza Ali Ahmad, Tariq Shaikh, Aurang Zeb Alamgir, Ali Ahsan, Khurram Javed and other members of MCCI were also present in the seminar and appreciated the current government and expressed their views regarding the ‘Haq, Haqdar Tk’ campaign.
