Senate body defers `Panama Papers Inquiries Bill 2016′

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice Thursday deferred ‘The Panama Papers Inquiries Bill 2016’ on the request of opposition.

Committee Chairing Senator Muhammad Javed Abbasi directed that none of the movers among the 41 parliamentarians was present in the meeting so the body referred the bill on the request of opposition members.

Whereas, on the second agenda of consideration of recommendation of the standing committee on Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization, the senate body had taken serious notice of incomplete briefing.

The chairman directed to submit a detailed presentation on the minutes of the agenda to senate committee members within one week.

Senator Saleem Zia, Senator Gianchand, Senator Senator Taj Haider, Senator Nawabzada Saifullah Magsi, Senator Ayesha Farooq, Senator Nihal Hashmi and Federal Minister of Law and Justice Zahid Hamid were also present in the meeting.
