Jhagra is eyeing the general seat, whereas Magsi is eyeing the woman’s seat. Both seats are falling vacant due to scheduled retirements of Mushahid Hussain and Saeeda Iqbal from the federal capital.

The PTI has contended in its petition that Jhagra, PML-N secretary general being from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Magsi being from Sindh were not eligible to contest Senate polls from the federal capital.

Magsi is a former district nazim of Tandu Muhammad Khan. Senate polls will be held on 52 seats on March 5.
