LAHORE: Senator Seher Kamran on Saturday lauded Pakistan Army, Navy and Maritime Security Agency for appointing a special security division for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to ensure security of waters around Gwadar port.

She said that if the country wanted to get maximum benefit of the strategic location of the deep-sea port, immediate development of Pakistan Navy for an effective seaward defence was a must.

Senator Seher Kamran said that keeping in view the enhanced spectrum of threats from adversaries, there was a dire need to augment the capabilities of Pakistan Navy and Maritime Security Agency to fulfil the needs of a multilayered defence system for an effective seaward defence of CPEC and Gwadar Port.
