KARACHI: Seniority issue is prevailing in the Directorate General of Training and Research (DGTR), which is affecting the working scenario as the junior officers are in the state of confusion in connection with complying the commands of which officer.
According to details, an officer of BS-20 Shazia Akram is currently holding an office of Director DGTR and another officer of BS-20, Chaudhry Abdul Basit, who is senior than Shazia Akram is currently holding a charge of Principal—DGTR.
Sources told Customs Today that the two officers of same cadre are working at the same authority in DGTR; adding that the seniority of Principal DGTR Chaudhry Abdul Basit is senior than Shazia Akram—Director DGTR, but both of the officers of Pakistan Customs are working in the same authority which is on one hand, an unjustified approach by FBR while on the other hand discourage the morale of senior officers.
The sources further said that the affairs of DGTR are not working as well due to cold war between the Customs officers, as the orders of one’s Customs officer is being by-pass by other officer.
“The avoidance of seniority by the high ups of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will certainly raise questions over the structural formation and also encourages nepotism at some extent”, sources added.
