Service Tribunal adjourns FBR employees’ cases of promotion, dismissal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Service Tribunal (FST) on Monday adjourned hearing of ‘promotion’ and ‘dismissal’ cases filed by officers and staffers of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The tribunal division bench comprising of members, Syed Rafique Hussain Shah and Dr Nazir Saeed, heard the cases filed by FBR staffers Shafqat Mahmud, Khalid Mehmood, Iftikhar Khan, Shabbier Ahmed, Muhammad Yasin, Khursheed Alam, Muhammad Abbas, Shaukal Hayat Khalil, Yousaf Khattak and Yasmin Akhtar.

Among petitioners, Shafqat Mahmud had filed case raising the matter of ‘promotion’ while rest cases heard by the said bench maintained ‘seniority’ issues containing complaints against FBR administration and seeking their due seniority at the department.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Arshad Bhatti and Muhammad Javed Iqbal Kasi, memebers of another division bench of the tribunal, heard case filed by FBR staffer Tariq Tanveer. Tariq had filed a petitioned seeking FST action against his dismissal from the service.

Both benches had adjourned hearing of the cases till third week of December.
