WELLINGTON: The services sector in New Zealand continued to expand in September, and at an accelerated pace, the latest survey from Business NZ showed on Monday with a Performance of Services Index score of 59.3.
That’s up from the upwardly revised 58.5 in August (originally 58.2), and it moves further above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction. It also marks an eight-year high for the index.
Among the individual components of the survey, the components for sales, stocks and supplier deliveries all strengthened, while employment and new orders slowed but continued to expand.
