Several smuggling goods confiscated by Gwadar Customs during 20 days of April

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar has seized a large number of smuggling items including electronic items, Iranian diesel, mobile phones, computer accessories, fancy electric boards and other items priced at Rs2.26million in 20 days of April.

Source said the Customs Collectorate Gwadar has impounded Non-Custom-Paid TV sets, dish antennas, decoders and wires valued at Rs5.48million on Friday morning.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Gwadar received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle said items. He constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Waheed Nawab and others. The team, during a search operation on the main road of Gwadar Highway, intercepted a truck bearing registration No: GH-7563.

During a thorough search, the team impounded 20-LED TV sets of 32 Inches, 50 dish antennas, decoders, 30 boxes of cables wires and cables pins valued at Rs5.48million. The team took into possession all the smuggling items and a truck and held two alleged smugglers including a driver and a conductor.

Source said the customs team will register an FIR after 48 hours against the accused and started investigations.
