The meeting reviewed the progress on the plan of developing big cities in Punjab, besides making Lahore greener through horticulture. The CM also approved construction of cultural pavilion at Dera Gujran near Ring Road, Lahore.

“Besides planting of saplings under tree plantation campaign, their look after is also essential,” said Shahbaz Sharif, adding that attention should be paid to making the cities beautiful through flowers and plants.

The proposal of developing greenbelts on railway track from Shahdara to Raiwind should also be considered, the chief minister told the meeting. “A plan regarding horticulture around roads on both sides of drains in Lahore should be evolved, and the model of LOS drain should be replicated in this regard,” he added.

The CM directed that a comprehensive plan should be presented for setting up picnic points and places of recreational facilities for children on both sides of canal from Thokar Niaz Baig to Jallo. He added the Railways department will extend all out cooperation for developing greenbelts on railway track from Shahdara to Raiwind.
