SHC adjourns hearing of petroleum consignment case till 29th

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned Collector Exports for May 29 in a petition filed by Reliance Petro Chemicals.

The collector was summoned by a SHC division bench, comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Agha Faisal. The company, dealing in petroleum products, maintained in their plea filed through that a huge consignment of three million tonnes of raw material was being stuck at Chaman border. The petitioner maintained that facilities for weighment of the cargo in question were inadequate.

A senior custom official associated with the investigation in cases against petitioner maintained that physical examination was conducted in a cursory manner. The bench, however, in order to decide the issue asked the respondents to consider the suggestion made by the petitioner.
