SHC adjourns hearings of three identical petitions

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has deferred hearing of three identical petitions seeking release of vehicles involved in smuggling of items including Iranian diesel.

A SHC customs appellate bench, comprising Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan, after this statement adjourned further proceedings till May 31.

Appearing for Ghulam Rasool, one of the petitioner’s, who owns a Hino oil tanker Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate submitted that as per Order in Original, it was held that alleged Iranian diesel was in fact purchased from Byco Petroleum and hence allegation by Customs was disproved. She informed the court that vehicle in question has been produced before the Nazir of the SHC.
