SHC approves bail of importer in fake EIF case

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) approved bail of Muhammad Nasir son of Muhammad Hussain, an importer against a solvent surety of Rs50000.

The accused was booked by Customs Post Clearance Audit (PCA) in a case of submitting fake/forge EIF (Electronic Import Form).

Siddique Zia Advocate representing the importer submitted that applicant name do not appear in First Information Report (FIR) and he was implicated in final challan. The counsel stated that applicant intends to surrender before the trial court but apprehends arrest before he reaches trial court.

The bench after hearing the arguments approved bail of the importer against surety of Rs50,000 and adjourned the hearing.
