SHC asks ex-CM Qaim Ali Shah to cooperate with NAB

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed former Sindh chief minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah to cooperate with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the illegal allotment case against him.

On 21.3.2019, an SHC bench headed by Chief Justice Ahmed Ali M Shaikh heard the pre-arrest bail plea of ex-CM and it remarked that he was not the owner of the lands of poor people which were allotted to Bahria Town.

Justice Shaikh asked Shah that did he know how much land was owned by Bahria Town. Shah said that he did not know how much it is. On which, the bench remarked how much lands have been snatched from the poor people.

Shah told the court that he believes NAB is out to get him but the chief justice said it is not. He remarked the allegations will be investigated and then we will know what really happened. The court, later, adjourned the hearing till 3rd May.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is investigating the illegal allotment of land in Malir Development Authority.

NAB officials said that 94 acres land was illegally allotted to the Bahria Town which was allotted in the name of a journalist, GM Jamali, and a society.
