SHC continues interim order on petition filed by M/s Intertek Pakistan Pvt Ltd

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) continues interim order for next date of hearing on a constitutional petition file by M/S Intertek Pakistan Pvt Ltd against impugned demand notice issued by Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Enforcement & Collection Unit-II Zone-II.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Munib Akhtar was hearing the petition.

Earlier, counsel for the petitioner stated that petitioner is a private limited company and is engaged in providing technical inception services to oil and related industries, foods, and agriculture products, textile, mechanical and pharmaceutical products.

Counsel further argued that Deputy Commissioner Inland Revenue Enforcement & Collection Unit-II Zone-II issued notice to the petitioner and alleged that petitioner, as a defaulter of Rs03.6million in respect of income tax and being aggrieved, moved an appeal before CIR Appeals which is pending, however during the pendency, tax authorities issued a notice for forced recovery of disputed amount.

Citing to Sectary Ministry of Law, Chairman FBR, CIR Zone-II, Large Taxpayers Unit-II and other as respondents, petitioner pleaded the SHC to kindly restrain them from taking any coercive measures against it.
