KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed parties to file comments on a constitutional petition filed by Shahzad Khan, seeking release of his oil tanker bearing registration number TUA-503 seized by Federal Investigation Agency Crime Circle Karachi due to allegedly involved in smuggling of 40,000 litters Iranian diesel. A two-member bench, headed by Justice Munib Akhtar, heard the petition.

Earlier, counsel for the petitioner stated that the vehicle had never been involved in smuggling of Iranian diesel, however, officials of the Federal Investigation Agency intercepted the said oil tanker loaded with 40,000 litters HSD oil, near Hub River Road, Muack Goth and seized it without showing any lawful reason and claimed that petitioner’s oil tanker was involved in smuggling to HSD oil from Iran into Pakistan via Pakistan border and having brought to Karachi by road.
