KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday disposed of a petition challenging the valuation rates of porcelain ware/glass when it was informed that Directorate General of Customs Valuation has issued fresh valuation ruling.
A division bench of the SHC headed by Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah disposed of the petition for having become infructuous.
Asif Iqbal filed the petition, submitting that the customs authorities were assessing the value of the imported porcelain ware/glass on the basis of the valuation ruling No 625/2014, which was old and the value assessed through the ruling was high. Therefore, the petitioner pleaded the court to order the authorities for issuing fresh ruling.
