SHC issues interim order; stops customs from taking action against BOl

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) in an interim order has stopped the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Karachi regions from taking any action against the BOl Media Group.

It may be mentioned here that the management of Axact has moved the SHC against a detention notice given to one of its sister company, BOL Media Group through their counsels Abid S. Zuberi, Haseeb Jamali and Ayan M. Memon.

The order stated that “no action shall be taken on the basis of notice or the said proceedings without the prior permission of the court.”

The SHC also appointed Nazir as commissioner to visit the premises where the equipments, etc. as per detention notice, are installed/available at the location as identified in the detention notice being the 7th and 9th floors of the BOL building located at Korangi Creek Road, Karachi as well as the vehicles present there.

Sources close to the Customs intelligence hinted that now a team under the leadership of Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan comprising Deputy Director, Muhammad Tayyab, Deputy Director Amjad Rajpar, Investigation Officer Kalimullah, ASO chief Haji Aslam, Akmal Hashmi, Jaffry, Saud and others would visit the BOL offices tomorrow along with the Nazir.

On the occasion, Nazir who will be acting as commissioner would personally verify the inventory prepared by the Customs intelligence.
