KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has issued notice to Pakistan Customs for Jan 26 restraining the officials concerned from taking any coercive action against Nishat Mills, importer of LED lights.
The notice was issued by an appellate bench comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Mrs Ashraf Jahan.
The petitioner challenged the imposition of the custom duty, taxes and other levies denying the concessionary rates. The denial was on ground that LED lights are now being produced locally. The petitioner claims that LED lights are not manufactured in Pakistan so far and hence they are entitled to concessions allowed under a CGO.
