KARACHI: The Sindh High Court issued notices to the customs department and deputy attorney general on a constitutional petition filed by M/s Chatriwala International through its proprietor seeking order for renewal license working as ship chandler under the license for Pakistan Customs.
While the hearing of petition, a two-member bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Omer Sial also directed them to file their respective para wise comments on next date of hearing.
Earlier, counsel for the petitioner stated that it is working as ship chandler under the license for Pakistan Customs, however, customs department suspend license by declared it null and void against the fundamental rights of petitioner, he submitted that he asked from customs department reasons for that, however, he was not informed any lawful reason.
Citing Secretary Ministry of Finance, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue, Chief Collector of Customs, Additional Collector of Customs as respondents, he pleaded the court to declare the act of the respondents as illegal, mala fide and arbitrary.
He also pleaded the court to direct them to issue renewal license to the petitioner within the time as per procedure without any delay.
