SHC orders Customs Intelligence to produce vehicle on 22nd

KARACHI: Sindh High Court has ordered Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations, Customs was ordered to produce a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle before court on Sept 22.

The bench earlier heard Ms Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate, counsel for petitioner Nasir Hussain, a civil engineer by profession. The DIT detained the vehicle on allegation that its chasis was tampered.

The counsel for petitioner referring to the purchase documents maintained that no forensic test was conducted by the Custom authorities. She submitted that petitioner was in possession of all documents pertaining to import hence detention of the vehicle is illegal.

The bench after hearing arguments ordered the DIT officials to produce the vehicle before Nazir of the court on Sept 22. The same bench hearing identical petitions filed by BYCO petroleum company for release of oil tankers and diesel reserved the judgment. The tankers were intercepted and detained at Mochko Custom’s check post.
