SHC seeks comments on petition for release of Toyota Crown

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has directed customs officials to file their respective para wise comments on a constitutional petition filed by Jahangir Khan Tareen son of Allah Noor seeking release of his Toyota Crown Saloon bearing registration number BEZ-998 seized by customs authorities on the charge of smuggling. A two-member bench, comprising Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Omer Sial, was hearing the petition.

Earlier, counsel for the petitioner stated that he is lawful owner of the vehicle and purchased it after fulfillment of all legal requirement, however, the customs authorities seized the vehicle without showing any lawful reason. The counsel added that he has all legal documents which were produced before the authorities concerned.
