SHC summons Customs officials in vehicle impounding cases

KARACHI: A Sindh High Court bench has issued notices to Custom officials of Directorate of Intelligence and Investigations and Anti-Smuggling Organisation for May 17 in two identical petitions pertaining to five non-custom paid vehicles.

The notices issued by the bench comprising of Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Arshad Hussain Khan. The Customs DIT and ASO (Preventive) officials had impounded the non-customs paid luxury vehicles, including Prado, Surf etc. Dil Khurram Shaheen advocate appeared for the petitioners seeking release of the vehicles.
