He inquired about the price of the mask from assistant commissioner headquarter which he was wearing. The assistant commissioner replied that it is being sold for Rs 50-60 and its original price was Rs 5.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar said the sanitizers worth Rs 100 are being sold for over Rs 900 and everything is being charged twice or thrice the original rate during lockdown.

He asked from the assistant commissioner to mention a single place where the government has taken any action.

The assistant commissioner replied that raids are being conducted by the concerned authorities and the rate list has been uploaded on the Karachi commissioner’s website.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar replied, “Street vendors don’t know about website. Why don’t you distribute the rate list after printing it? It is very important to control the prices of masks, sanitizers and other items.”
